More than a yoga studio, Terra Shala is a space to reconnect—with your body, your breath, and the people around you.

A Place to Grow, Together.

ABOUT TERRA SHALA YOGA

Whether you come to build strength, find stillness, deepen your practice, or simply take a breath from the busyness of life, the hope is that you leave feeling more connected than when you arrived—to yourself, your community, and the world around you.

Together, the name reflects exactly what the studio is meant to be: a grounded place to move, breathe, heal, and grow - and a reminder that the work we do within ourselves can create a ripple effect throughout our relationships, our community, and the world around us.

The move to Bellport Village marked a new chapter for both AnnMarie and the studio. After outgrowing a space that never fully reflected the experience she wanted to create, she chose a name that felt more aligned with her vision.

Terra
means earth in Italian - a nod to her heritage, commitment to sustainability, and connection to the natural world. Shala means home or sacred space in Sanskrit.

Terra Shala grew from AnnMarie’s lifelong love of nature, movement, and the belief that individual growth begins when we reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with the earth beneath our feet.

After years of teaching yoga and witnessing the power of that reconnection, she felt called to create a space that was truly welcoming, grounded, and community-centered; a place where mindfulness, connection, and personal growth could flourish.

Rooted in connection. Created for growth.

Movement spaces have always felt like home to AnnMarie. With a family history rooted in karate studios and a grandmother who has practiced yoga throughout her life, creating a space centered around practice, growth, and community felt like a natural continuation of that story. Watching her grandmother maintain a lifelong relationship with yoga has been a meaningful inspiration and a reminder that our practice can continue to grow and change alongside us.

Her teaching style is thoughtful, intentional, and deeply connected. She blends mindful sequencing and alignment with energetic practices that help students feel supported, present, and more connected to themselves. Through yoga, meditation, Reiki, sound healing, and other holistic practices, AnnMarie hopes to inspire meaningful growth that extends beyond the studio and into everyday life.

Meet the founder

We are committed to creating a welcoming space where every person feels seen, supported, and at home.

Belonging

Every practice is an opportunity to learn, evolve, and become more fully yourself—one breath and one step at a time.

Growth

Meaningful transformation begins when we reconnect with ourselves, our community, and the world around us.

Connection

Our approach is rooted in mindful movement, thoughtful alignment, and meeting each student where they are. Every class includes opportunities to soften, deepen, rest, or explore so you can move safely and confidently in the way your body needs that day.

We believe yoga should support your life—not ask you to perform. The most meaningful progress comes from a practice you can return to again and again.

A practice that meets you where you are.

OUR APPROACH & VALUES

Each Terra Shala instructor brings a unique voice, background, and teaching style, but the same commitment to helping every student feel seen, supported, and welcome.

Pincha Mayurasana (forearm stand) — inversions make me feel so present and strong!

FAVORITE POSE

Sasha loves building her classes around a peak pose—something the practice gradually works toward. For her, the goal isn’t finding the “deepest” version of a pose, but finding your fullest expression of it. Expect thoughtful sequencing, plenty of options, and a balance of challenge and accessibility.

IN HER CLASSES

Sasha completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Dallas in 2024 and has since taught everything from restorative and yin to power vinyasa and advanced asana. Outside of the studio, she works as a bench scientist studying neuroscience, which has given her a deeper appreciation for the human body and all that it’s capable of. She fell in love with yoga because it showed her she could do things she never thought were possible, and now she hopes to help her students discover that same possibility within their own bodies.

Expect a thoughtful blend of movement, breathwork, meditation, and a little humor along the way. Stephanie believes movement should feel good, healing is possible, and yoga is for everybody. Come for the flow, stay for the laughs, and leave feeling better than when you rolled in.

IN HER CLASSES

Once a full-time athlete and part-time human crash-test dummy, Stephanie learned the hard way that pushing your limits sometimes means… face-planting past them. After a highlight reel of sports injuries, she stumbled—literally—into yoga.

She came for the healing and stayed for the hamstrings.
What started as a way to stretch and recover became a love of yoga and everything it has to offer. Yoga not only helped her body heal, but changed the way she moved, thought, and breathed. Curious about why it worked so well, Stephanie dove into teacher training, bringing together her love of anatomy, movement, philosophy, and the more spiritual side of the practice.

Hannah has been teaching yoga for 10 years, first discovering the practice as a teenager while moving through a difficult chapter of her life. Yoga became a way for her to better understand herself, quiet her mind, and find steadiness within. Inspired by her own experience, she became a teacher with the hope of creating that same space of connection for others.
